According to Katie Strang from newsday at practice this mourning Nate Thompson got hit in the ear with the puck and is DTD. Now I have heard everything with this team. I mean you get hit in the ear with the puck Holy Crap!!

According to Chris Botta and Katie Strang the Islanders have claimed center Rob Schremp from Edmonton. He is a small skillful center who hopefully hits his stride with us. If he doesn’t then you put him in bridgeport and let him play out the year and leave after the season.

In case you didn’t hear Chris Botta reported yesterday that sometime this week the lease between Nassau County and the LDG will be announced. Its a step in the right direction however Suozzi is rolling the dice with this one. If the lease isn’t approved within 120 days of submission then the Isles lease with SMG is considered null and void and are allowed to move. That is the out-clause that was agreed to by Wang and Suozzi in 2007. I have also learned that Suozzi is the head of the committee that needs to approve it. So I will be surprised if it doesn’t get approved. This is another way of showing that if the project fails it is all on the TOH.

(For right now the man on my the left is public enemy #1a)
In case you don’t know the person seen above is former senator and former friend of Islander owner and principal Lighthouse developer Charles Wang, Alfonse D’amato. In a recent article for newsday it was suggested that he was the main source of opposition for the Lighthouse because of a falling out he had with Wang. His argument against it is the sixth borrow thing. This isn’t good because the TOH board do what ever he and Joe “blow it out your duffle bag” Mondello say. The root of the falling out between Wang and D’amato is that D’amato wanted Charles to hire his brother to be involved in the Lighthouse and Charles said no. D’amato made his opposition to the project known in public in 2005. If we let two old politicians kill this fantastic project then that will show what problems we have in this area. We are not talking about developing some beautiful piece of land, it is a parking lot and a 37 year old arena!! I mean D@mn!! If D’amato/Mondello are successful in killing this project then shame on the TOH board for caring about their political careers more then the area in which they live!! I know I will be calling the TOH on tuesday to find out more about this. I hope the ego of two old men isn’t able to hold back this most important project!! If it is that is all the evidence needed to show that a change needs to be made because two old men shouldn’t be able to single handidly decide the fate of an entire region just because of there political position. For that to happen would be disgraceful!!
“Just Build It”

(We are one step closer to making the above picture a reality) Picture is from the LIBN
According to Chris Botta from islanderspointblank.com the lease between Nassau County and the Lighthouse development group has been completed and will be announced by Executive Suozzi between Tuesday and Friday of next week. This is good news because we are now one step closer to getting the shovel in the ground. Now the fate of the Lighthouse and arguably of Long Island lays in the hands of Kate Murray and the Town of Hempstead town board. Now we will see what they are made of!! Hopefully this gets done and soon!!

(I want a celebration like this to take place a couple weeks before this one and to be on Hempstead turnpike)
This is something that I have been thinking about for the last few days. What I am saying is, when are we going to be able to wake up and not think about the up-coming hearing or the upcoming rally or how much they hate Kate Murray or Queens or Brooklyn. But when will be able to just think about the starting of another hockey season? Watching the much hyped John Tavares mature and get better under our coaching staff? Complaining about a free agent Garth did/didn’t sign. More then likely didn’t! Complaining about a trade Garth did/didn’t make. This one can go either way, ALA the Guerin deal and the Comrie Campoli deal. All I know is I can’t wait for the day that franchise relocation is no longer a concern and instead of talking about the latest public hearing with the guy next to me at the game maybe we can talk about the game the night prior or something like that.

According to Katie Strang as well as Chris Botta Okposo has been cleared to skate by the Isles med. team and skated this morning before other players started. Hopefully he will play in the homeopener which by my count is 7 days 18 hours and 25 minutes away. (Approx)
Hopefully he has no nagging side-effects and goes on to have the break-out season some expect him to have.

In case you don’t know Kate Murray does have an opponent in the coming election. She is named Kristin Mcelroy, Mrs. Mcelroy is from the evil empire better known as Garden City. She is married and mom of three, she was the Nassau attorney for a while now she is in a private firm with her dad. With all the Kate Murray signs you see around one would think you would see at least a couple of Mcelroy signs since she is supposed to be running against her and everything. Well you won’t find any!! She is basically a phantom candidate!! How could the Dems not take advantage of this and try to take control of the GOPS last stronghold in the area. That being the TOH? It wouldve been perfect because they wouldve played the mega pro Lighthouse angle and gotten a ton of votes. But… Mcelroy hasn’t done anything and she is likely to receive around I would say 35-40 percent of the vote. I have a message for people just because she or her party doesn’t want her to campaign doesn’t mean we can’t find out about her. Just google her name and you will find stuff because two years ago she almost beat Kemp Hannon for his Senate seat.
To finish I would just like to say that I wish the Dems wouldve have put a campaign with her and tried. It makes a mockery of the democratic process!! Vote Kate out and vote Kristin Mcerloy for Town of Hempstead Town Supervisor!

I have read that he might find his way out of Ottowa. Would he be someone you guys would be interested in to fill the “enforcer” role? FYI he has 2 years at 1.3 per left on his deal. Post your thoughts in comments.

Yesterdays hearing showed a couple things about councilman Santino. One was that he was unpreparred not the developers as was reported in newsday. Even when he was wrong he would just go on like an idiot! He was very rude and obnoxious and acted like a d!**!! It showed that he has as much power on the board as Murray because for basically the majority of the mourning and afternoon sessions he did the talking. He is a terrible Politician and needs to be voted out in Sept.
Don’t forget to litter his facebook page with pro-Lighthouse comments:
