Defensive line-up predictions!! Pair #2

I did pair number one the other day, now onto #2.

Brendan Witt-Radek Martinek

Brendan Witt analysis- The hard nosed stay at home d-man may not have many points this year but I am sure he will have plenty of hits and blocked shots.  If they even keep track of them.  Also I am sure he will have more then one run in with Sean “Sloppy Seconds” Avery.  Overall Witt and Radek have been together on and off for the last few years and I would be suprised if they didn’t start the season together.

Radek Martinek analysis- Radek when healthy is a pretty good d-man.  Not bad for a late rounder by us years ago.  I know it is shocking right?  We actullay have a draft pick of the Milbury admin left which means he didnt trade someone.  Holy Crap!!  Well it worked out in the long run for us holding onto Radek.  He in the last few years has improved his defensive game immensly and last year we saw his offensive numbers increase.  Hopefully we see more of the same this year.  The key is that he has to be healthy which along with a few people on this team is easier said then done.

Do you agree with my prediction and analysis?  Do you think I am out of my mind?  Talk about it in comments!

Reminder!! Also news on DP!

Tonight at 10:30 pm on MSG + and the NHL network you can watch the Isles take on the Vancover Canucks as part of hockeyville 2009.  Unfortunatly 2009 #1 pick John Tavares will not be playing because according to Katie Strang from newsday he is battling the flu and just started skating yesterday.  This probably won’t be the most fundamentally sound game ever but hey its live hockey for the first time in 5 months.

Also according to Katie Strang from newsday Rick Dipietro was seen on the ice yesterday with pads on.  Should be interesting so maybe he won’t miss as much time as most people thought.

Coming up later: Predictions and analysis for defensive pairing two on opening night which by my count is 2 weeks 5 days 3 hours and 25 minutes away.
