Memo to the NHL: Suspend Dion Phaneuf!!

After seeing the vicious hit by Dion Phaneuf on Islander star Kyle Okposo I want to tell Colin Campbell and who ever the he!! else will listen that Dion Phaneuf needs to be suspended for it.  The hit was 110% dirty and totally inappropriate for a pre-season game.  Garth needs to make sure he gets suspended because if he doesn’t that would be a travesty.  Also Bobby Nystrom reported Okposo is doing fine and is talking to his dad.  Hopefully he is ready for the home opener!!

SUSPEND PHANEUF!!

Crack-Head Theo returns to NHL action tonight!!

I know you maybe thinking, what the heck does this have to do with the Isles?  Well his first game tonight is vs the Islanders as a member of the Calgary Flames.

In case you don’t know he was reinstated last week by the NHL and was invited to camp by the Flames a few days later.

Recap of last nights game!

I know I am a little late but here are a few key points I took out of last nights game:

1) Tavares for his first game in the NHL looked very good.  Making some nice passes including setting up Justin Dibo with a scoring chance on the powerplay.

2) Meanwhile De-Haan at first struggled mitally in period one.  But as the game went on he looked better and better.  That concluded with him scoring his first goal in the third period last night to tie the game at 2.

3) Nathan Lawson played amazing for the first two periods last night!!  Making unbelivable save after unbelivable save.  As the announcer said he was standing on his ear.  But the wheels came off and he gave up some soft goals in the third period.

4) Andy Sutton looked horrible for the second game in a row.  Remind me why we didn’t dump him in the off-season?

5) Park and Sim play like they want it.  With Park your not suprised to much because that is his game.  With Sim it is nice to see but I still don’t see a spot for him on the opening night roster.

Do you agree with my points?  Do you think I missed one?  Do you think I am crazy with some of the stuff I said?  Talk about it in comments

Weight and Bergy hurt?

According to pointblank both Doug Weight and Sean Bergenheim strained there hamstrings last night.  Typical Islanders right?  Two games and three people are already out.  Hopefully they clear this up and are able to play wed. at the NVMC versus the Devils.
