Re-Zoning hearing for the Lighthouse!!

On Tuesday at the John Adams playhouse the much anticipated re-zoning hearing for the Lighthouse Project will be taking place.  It will take place in three sessions, from 9:30-1, 2-5, 6-9.  If you can make it please go let your face be seen and your voice be heard as this is the most important hearing for the Lighthouse.  This is the last time the public has the opportunity to weigh in and give support or voice concern about the project.  We haven’t come this far to slow up now, there is a light at the end of the tunnel.  Lets continue fighting and get there and maybe we will all meet at the ground-breaking ceremony for the Lighthouse in Apr-May.

Okposo coming home to be evaluated!

According to Katie Strang from newsday Kyle Okposo is coming back to New York to be evaluted.  This is off course because of the mild concussion he got from the dirty hit by Dion “The P*$$y” Phaneuf on thursday.  What in the heck was the Islander medical staff doing allowing him to fly anywhere?  Are they ex employees of the Mets?  He shouldn’t have flown anywhere and to put him in the air was stupid!!  Now I hope he is ok and there were no side-effects from the devastating hit.  Tell me again Colin Campbell how it was a perfectly legal hit.  What a moron!!

Breaking News: Isles approached and asked to join Nets at Barclays project!

According to Chris Botta from Islanderspointblank.com the Islanders have a legitimate fall-back option if the Lighthouse doesn’t go through.  He is reporting that the Isles were approached and asked to join the Nets at the Barclays project in Brooklyn which in case your unaware got its approvals on Thursday.  Now I know Wang has his deadline for approvals (Zoning) but he should def. keep them on speed dial.  Because on Monday the 5th he should begin talks with Brooklyn.  Not just Brooklyn but Queens is having a lot of trouble with the redoing of the Iron Triangle so I see Brooklyn as a more likely suitor.  If the Lighthouse god-forbid doesn’t go through then at least we get to keep the team semi local.  Probably would significantly decrease the amount of games I go to per season.  But hey I will still be able to go to games.  Interesting timing with the Zoning hearing on tuesday and everything.  I think this is just another signal to Supervisor Murray and the rest of the board that the possibility of the team leaving and the project going kaput is very real if they play games.  Hopefully they don’t and everything goes down as planned but when the heck does that ever happen?  Especially when your dealing with politics around here?  Below is a link to Bottas article I recommend you read it as like all his articles is very well written:
