It is safe to say that the guy featured above was the best player on the ice for the Islanders tonight capped off by his dazzling second period goal. Here are some of my notes from the game:
Sub-par game from Biron! Two of the goals he let in should’ve been stopped including the overtime winner.
Okposo was amazing as I said above! That move he pulled in the second period for his goal was awsome!
Streit had a sub-par game! But hey you can’t say to much because he doesn’t have very many!
The refs were bad!! That second call on Schremp was crap and on the first goal #1 the puck went out of play and #2 Doug Weight had his stick held.
Can we hit the net please? There had to be almost 10 times where we had opportunities in good shooting positions but we shot them wide. Most notably Sim 3X and Comeau when he stripped the d-man and came in with JT.
Overall it is good that we got a point, I am sure most of us wouldve signed up for 2 pts through two games to start the season.
Next game: Satuday Oct. 10th Isles @ Boston starting at 7 pm

According to the New York Post the boroughs President Marty Markowitz has thrown his name into area into the ring for the Islanders should Wang leave the Nassau County. Markowitz said “Put Everyone else on ice” he went on to say “We’ve got lots of hockey fans, and we’d even let them keep their name since we’re technically still on Long Island.”
Although if the Lighthouse doesn’t get done I would prefer Queens I def. wouldn’t mind Brooklyn because while the amount of games I attend would be cut drastically I can still attend them.

Today at 7 pm the New York Islanders (0-0-1) will take on the Ottawa Senators (1-1-0) at the Scotia Bank palace in Ottawa Ontario. The starting lineups for the teams can be found below:
New York Islanders:
Matt Moulson-John Tavares-Kyle Okposo
Rob Schremp-Josh Bailey-Trent Hunter
Sean Bergenheim-Doug Weight-Jon Sim
Blake Comeau-Richard Park-Tim Jackman
Streit-Gervais
Witt-Martinek
Sutton-Meyer (Am I the only one that is shocked that they are going to play two consecutive games without getting hurt?)
Martin Biron
Dwayne Roloson
Lineup notes: I think scratches were perfect, I just hope our lack of toughness doesn’t catch up with us during the game. I am also looking forward to seeing the MM, JT, KO line continue to develop. I am also curious as to what typ of reception Tavares will get there. The last thing is I want to see how Rob Schremp plays. He heard he has good speed and is a dangler. I just hope he just doesn’t catch the Comrie toe-drag syndrome. Also one has to wonder how Biron will play after having 15 days off beside for practice.
Ottawa:
Milan Michalek-Jason Spezza-Daniel Alfredsson
Nick Foglino-Mike Fisher-Alex Kovalev
Johnathan Cheechoo-Peter Regin-Chris Neil
Jarkoo Ruutu-Chris Kelly-Shean Donavan
Chris Phillips-Anton Volchenkov
Flip Kuba-Erik Karlsson
Chris Campoli-Matt Carkner
Pascal Leclaire
Brian Elliot
Tonight is the Sens home-opener so the will more then likely come out pumped hitting and ready to play. So hopefully our team toughness and the fact that we have had plenty off rest will be able to help us withstand the early onslaught that is possible to happen.
By all accounts we should hopefully win this game as long as we take the body and are able to get open space for chances we should be fine.
Save the Isles Prediction: Isles 3 Sens 2
Goals from Streit, Okposo, and Bergy
Sens goals from- Alfredsson and Michalek
