Chris Botta on espn radio said that Queens is hard after the Isles.  This is good and hopefully if the Lighthouse doesn’t work for whatever reason then at least we have an alternative to keep the team in the NY Metropolitan area. 

According to Stan Fischler the Isles have reached out to Queens about playing in Flushing.  This is very interesting since it comes hours after the LI Press report that the Lighthouse project is dead.  This could be the deal Wang had that made him comfy to kill the Lighthouse.  We won’t know til an official announcement is made.

In an interview with ESPN 1050 radio Chris Botta said the Lighthouse isn’t dead that it was just a scare tactic.  He also mentioned that Brooklyn is on the fence about their pursuit of the Islanders.  For Queens info see above

According to the Long Island Press Charles Wang has scrapped the plans for the Lighthouse.  While I haven’t rec’d any emails back confirming the report this is still scary!!  If this report is true I pray that he has some sort of deal for the hockey team to remain in the NY metro area.  But more then that is a bad thing for Long Islands future.  If this isn’t approved then the future of this area is dark and gloomy to be capped off by having no young people here because they all moved away for bigger and better things.  Shame on Kate Murray and the rest of the TOH board if they let this happen.  Hopefully this is just the very ugly part before the project gets approved. 

I want to type more right now but I am just so stunned that after everything we have done that this could all be over and our Island dream will remain just that, a dream.
