In a recent Ranger game, Ranger Captain Chris Drury was blindsided by a hit from Flames forward Curtis Glencross. It was later found out that Drury has a concussion resulting from the hit and Glencross was suspended 3 games. If you recall in a September pre-season game young up and coming d-man Dion Phaneuf absolutely drilled Islander forward Kyle Okposo with a dirty hit to the head and no disciplinary action was taken against him. Not even a fine! What I want to know is where the justice is? A third liner hit the captain of the Rangers all be it illegally and gets a three game suspension but a hit that I feel is considerably worse doesn’t warrant a suspension! I don’t get it! I smell a superstar call along with some anti-islander bias from one Colin Campbell the leader of the hypocrites!
Here are videos of the two hit, you be the judge:
Phanuefs hit:

Glencrosses hit:

In my opinion in which I think I made crystal clear above I feel that the Phaneuf hit was light years worse then the Glencross hit but Glencross is the one that got suspended. Go Figure!

That is right the two people you see above won’t be suiting up with the team for the near future.
According to newsdays Katie Strang Doug Weight will be out 4-6 weeks with what is being called an upper body injury. This is the same injury that kept him out of the game Saturday at the Coliseum.
Also according to Chris Botta from islanderspointblank.com the Isles locker room has been hit with a second case of swine flu. It has been caught by star forward Kyle Okposo. Botta says to expect him to miss the three games this week at minimum. That stretch starts with a game tomorrow in Washington. Another Islander has swine flu lets hope he gets through it as smoothly as the captain Doug Weight did.
