Congrats to Rob Schremp on picking up his first NHL goal!  Hopefully now they will let him play and if anything send sim to the press box.

Now the Game: Fantastic game in general

-Awsome showing from Roli

-Sweet dish from JT to Moulson for goal 2

-We passed the Rangers again!!  With our win and there loss we went ahead of them.

-Good crowd

-More Boston fans then expected

-Nice game from Comeau

-New goal song is alot better then Burn it to the Groud IMO  It caught on better then I thought and I actually like it.

-Acording to Chris Botta at islanderspointblank the Islanders will make there custom royal blue third jerseies there primary home jerseys next year.

Tonight from the Old Barn in Hempstead the Boston Bruins will be paying John Tavares and our New York Islanders a visit.  Tavares has the Islanders last 5 goals dating back to his empty netter vs Atlanta.  Here were the lines as of this morning from Chris Botta:

According to islanders.nhl.com we have a new goal song and it is no longer burn it to the ground by Nickel-Back.

After the fan vote is was decided that Pennywise by Bro-Hymn would be our new song.  If you never heard hit the link below, it starts at 1:23. 

Although I prefer Rock & Roll part 2 to this song I thought this song was the best of the ones offered in the poll.  This is exactly what a customer service lady told me when I asked her why R&R part 2 was taken away:

“Too many complaints from parents who’s kids are coming home from Islanders games saying “you suck!”  The people have spoken.”

What people have spoken exactly?  The people who come out to a game or 2 per season and hardly have to hear the song or the die-hards that come out in snow rain and hail to watch this team play.  I will tell you who spoke and that was group 1, while I can appreciate the fact that the Isles are trying to appeal to everyone you guys got to lighten-up.  I mean how long is it going to take before they change the current one because people are saying “you suck”?  If you hear it you will see that there are plenty of spots to do it.  When they take it away what are they going to do give us more custom crap like they did in the beginning and middle of last year?  I really hope not!!  I think they Isles need to swallow there pride and realize that a majority of the fan base wants R&R part 2 back look at all the Isles sites, Chris Botta on pointblank has been saying it should be back for a while now, members of IslanderMania the Isles official message board in a poll voted that, that should be brought back.  I have a feeling the only reason Bro-Hymn won is because it was the best of the worst.  (Update: After hearing it at the game tonight I actually liked it and so have many people I talked to) Why did they put the current one on the poll?  If your doing a poll to find a new one doesn’t that mean people don’t like the current one so why waste a spot in the poll with it?  It makes know sense to me.  Well hopefully this one sticks for a while and if they do take it away hopefully its to bring back R&R part 2.

Yes you saw that correctly there is actually news on the Lighthouse and it comes from our friend Nick at lettherebelighthouse.  He says that Lighthouse people and TOH people haven’t met since election day and that they are far apart on how much to scale back.  Also it seems as though the Lighthouse group has once again stopped payments to FP Clarke. 

First of all shame on Kate and Co.  IMO they should be meeting with them daily trying to work out the kinks and stuff.  Also with FP Clarke I think the Lighthouse should demand a new environmental consultant because its obvious FP Clarke just wants to milk the process so they keep getting paid and really has no intention of finishing. 

The last part about being far apart in scale back.  I don’t see why they can’t come to a compromise.  The entry says Wang will scale back like 10% and the TOH wants 30-35%.  I think the Towns #’s maybe a little high but why can’t they agree to 20%?  I will tell you why because that would act. make things easy and if you haven’t learned already its never easy to get anything done in this town unless you kiss the butt of the right politicians.

According to Chris Botta from pointblank the lines for tonight have Josh Bailey currently skating on the 4th line wing with Richard Park and Nate Thompson.  Can someone please explain to me why this is.  Last year he was getting a ton of minutes and what not and now they’ve relegated him to 4th line wing duties.  What is up with that?  I am sorry but IMO Sim brings nothing to the game besides some comedy relief on occasion.  If your going to put Bailey on line 4 you may as well send him to the AHL.  I think Sim should have  been there from the seasons beginning but that is just me.  A bad move hear from Gordan and IMO stunting Baileys development because I don’t think he will be getting to many points playing with Park and Thompson no offense to them but that just isn’t there style.  Hopefully he changes his mind and switches him and Sim but I wouldn’t hold my breath because it seems as though they really like the 31 yr old Sim more then the 20 yr old Bailey.
