Mets want Winter Classic at Citifield!

 (Could this be the site of an Islander game in the near future?  If Jeff Wilpon and the Mets have anything to say about it, it very well could be)

According to todays New York Post Mets COO Jeff Wilpon has repeatedly told NHL Commish Gary Bettman of the Mets desires to hold the Winter Classic at Citifield on the first day of 2011.  He also states that he has contact both James Dolan the owner of the Rangers and Charles Wang the owner of the Islanders.  The article says the Islanders have shown interest in doing it. 

I personally would love to have an outdoor Islander Ranger game at Citifield.  It think it would be a blast and a much needed boost for this franchise because of the national exposure they would get being part of something like this.  I have watched them the last two years and it seems like its an amazing exp.  I think it would be a crazy exp. to have an Islander Ranger game outdoors.  The indoor ones are crazy enough imagine outdoors?  Here is the article from todays New York Post:
