Update 4: Deal is done!!!  Huge win for the Rangers!! =( 

Update 3: According to Jim Cerny’s twitter account the Flames might be seeking Ryan Callahan as part of the deal.  You can view it here:

Also according to TSN’s Darren Dregger Flames GM Daryl Sutter may have gotten cold feet when it comes to this deal.  Meaning he probably woke up and saw what an awful trade it was.  This should be interesting to keep an eye on as the hours roll by.

Update 2: According to tsn.ca the deal hasn’t been fully agreed to and likely won’t be throughout the course of the day.  Look for an agreement if there is one after the Flames game tonight.

IMO Win for the Rangers 

According to yahoos puckdaddy the Rangers have traded Chris Higgins and Ales Kotalik to the Flames for Olli Jokinen.  Jokinen is a free agent after this season but I think they did well in the deal as much as it pains me to say!  Kotalik was a 3 million per year bust and Higgins wasn’t producing as well as he had in years past.

Well evidently this team forgot how to win!!  Am I the only one who has thought the last week and change has been frustrating as anything to watch.  I swear that I have never seen a team miss the net as much as we have!  Anyway today we lost again this time to the Panthers 2-0.  Here are some of my notes:

-Vokoun played well!
-Where were we in the second period???  As decent as the first period was that is how bad the second was
-We can’t keep losing to teams that are right next to us in the standings and expect to get into the playoffs
-Refs were terrible but as usual they weren’t that good!

Today Kyle Okposo and our New York Islanders will be traveling to Florida to take on David Booth and the Panthers.  According to Florida news outlets David Booth will be making his long awaited return today.  Booth hasn’t played since taking a vicious hit from Mike Richards on October 24th of last year.  Expect to see DP in net today as we go for a much needed win!

According to yahoos puck-daddy the Leafs have done a major team shakeup.  First they have traded Nicklas Hagman, Matt Stajan, Ian White, and Jamal Mayers to Calgary for Dion Phaneuf, Fredrik Sjostrom, and Keith Aulie.  Also the leafs have traded Vesa Toskala and Jason Blake to the Ducks for goalie JS Giguere.  Well this is a major facelift for Toronto as they have traded a ton of big offensive pieces so we have to see if there offense can handle the loss of production of Stajan, Blake, and Hagman.  But adding Phanuef makes them alot better!
