Update 5: Check out this entry from BD Gallof and Nick Giglia:
http://hockeyindependent.com/blog/bdgallof/13647/
Update 4: He said they are going to do their due dilligence on the piece and it will be published tomorrow So look for it on letterebelighthouse.blogspot.com which can be found on the side bar
Update 3: At around 10:13 Nick wrote the following on the facebook page of lettherebelighthouse ”Post is coming today, guys. We’ve been working on getting a reaction but will run with what we have.”However 2 minutes ago he wrote this:
“However, XXXXX…you make a good point, we may hold off on it for a day because of the implications. You never want unintended consequences….Update coming.”
So it seems as though we may or may not get a post from him tonight.
Update 2: Still no word confirming the Lighthouse is dead however expect to see a piece on the link below by tomorrow sometime with more info filling in missing spots. To me it sounds like the project is still on but its on Life Support.
Check out lettherebligthouse.blogspot.com for the latest
Update: According to a source the Lighthouse maybe done and look out for info tomorrow! Tomorrow has the pot. to be a very sad day in Islander Country as well as Long Island!!!! All because the only thing the Nassau GOP knows how to do is take money to pad their own d@mn bank accounts!!!!!!!
This was posted on twitter by Nick from lettherebelighthouse about a half hr ago
“Hearing rumors that, if true, could mean the Lighthouse is in a dire situation. Am working to confirm or deny”
To me this looks like the corrupt Nassau GOP accomplished what they said out to do and killed the Lighthouse. Congrats GOP you guys are a disgrace to Nassau County!

Well tonight after a very promising start our New York Islanders fell 4-3 to the rival broadway blue-skirts. To be honest there wasn’t much positive to come out of the game so if you want an extended post game click the link below:
Next Game: Thurs. 4/1 @ Home VS Philly

Tonight Marian Gaborik and the Rangers will be paying a visit to the old barn in Hempstead to take on Kyle Okposo and our New York Islanders. According to Chris Botta Dwayne Roloson will be in net for the Islanders against presumably Henrik for the Rangers. The Rangers will be without Sean Avery, Ryan Callahan, and Matt Gilroy for the game tonight. According to newsday Cory Locke will be called up from Hartford to play tonight. Also PA Parantu (sorry about the spelling) will be suiting up for the Rangers as well. This is a big game, if the Isles win it could be the final nail in the Rangers playoff coffin also the Islanders I think would like to get redeem themselves after that abysmal showing they put out their last week at the garden. Hopefully we can get the W but we usually have trouble with the Rangers at the Coliseum so it should be interesting!

According to yahoos puck daddy NHL officials denied that there was a deal for the Coyotes to move back to Winnipeg. However they did confirm that talks were going down should a deal with the Bulls owner to keep the team in Phoenix fall through.
I think it would be ashame for the team to move. Phoenix fans had to go through some years of hardship and the circus that was last summer. Now the team is finally good and they take them away. Thats really a shame and hopefully the deal with the Bulls owner happens and the teams stays in Phoenix.

Well according to Chris Botta the unthinkable has happen, the Islanders have adjusted their position on Season ticket holder renewals. We pushed back against their ridiculous antics and they backed down! Nice job Islanders Country!!
According to Chris they have relented on their deadline date as well as their interest charges. What they are asking for now according to Botta is the following:
50%-due by Apr 15th
25%-due by May 1st
balance due by June 1st
However BarryLI from IslanderMania the Islanders official message board. Also an Isles season ticket holder since 1972 said he was told by his rep he could do the following:
50%-By Apr 15th
25%- by June 30th
Balance by Aug 30th
That is with no interest charges at all
Also Botta reports that he is hearing general parking will remain at $7 dollars for next year with season ticket holders getting a discount on the more expensive and highly accessible breakaway parking.
I am very happy to read this since this info first became public I have been very vocal here with my dislike of it. Now that this came out I am happy the Isles front office came to their senses and realized what they were doing was crazy and outlandish given the state and current standing of the team.

A report came out today that the 2011 Winter Classic will be held at Heinz Field and feature the Penguins and the Capitals. I think this is bull because every team was supposed to be in one before a team got to repeat. But of course they grant Crosbys team an exception and allow them to participate in their second one in three years. How about giving a team on the rise a chance? Such as the Islanders, the Blues, the Predators, heck even the Lightning. You do this to get the teams noticed and maybe turn more people from the local and national areas onto the teams and show that they have some good players. But know they have to keep Crosby happy and put him against Ovechkin! Its Bull Crap in my opinion!

As speculated since the trade deadline goalie Rick Dipietro will not suit up against the Isles again the rest of the season. According to Katie Strang he may get in some practices if the swelling in his knee goes down.
I for one am not surprised at all and in my opinion the best thing long term to do for the team would be to buy him out. Look at this season we were playing well, he comes back we go in the gutter, he leaves again and we play well. Coincidence? I don’t think so!

Today our New York Islanders for the first time beat the Blue Jackets at their home rink in Columbus. Here are some of my notes:
-Roli once again played well!
-For a defense with 2 people who basically have never played NHL hockey before we didn’t look terrible
-Congrats to Jon Sim who scored a goal a couple days after his child was born
-Nice shot by Okposo on goal number one
-Good tip by Bergenheim on the second one
Next Game: Tuesday 3/30 @ Home vs The Rangers
NOTE: Sorry for no pregame tonight!

In case you missed it David Booth was taken out with a hit again last night. The good news is he was released from the hospital today. The bad news is that he has another concussion. Poor Booth 2 concussions in one season!

Today our New York Islanders in a stunning turn of events defeated the Calgary Flames 3-2 which included 2 third period goals. Which is why it was stunning, here are some of my notes from the game:
-Nice goal from Moulson
-Best third period in a while
-Biron was stellar
-Gervais act. did something good! I know I can’t believe it either
-Nystrom had a good game which was cool
-Refs were awful in the first two periods but they werent terrible in the third
Next Game: Saturday @ Columbus

Today Jarome Iginla and the Calgary Flames will be traveling to the old barn in Hempstead to take on Kyle Okposo and our New York Islanders. I really hope this game is better then last night because if it is not I don’t think I will be able to sit through it because last night was horrendous! I would expect Marty Biron to get the start in net after-all Roloson faced like 40 something shots last night. Also Mark Flood was called up from Brideport today to replace the injured Dustin Kohn. The only other roster alteration I can see is Tambellini being in for Trevor Gillies.

Well today in the mail I rec’d a letter from the Town of Hempstead explaining how they should be praised for jumpstarting the “stalled Lighthouse development.” Well for example the 1st part of it is titled why do we need a “jump start.” They use a couple paragraphs explaining why we need a jumpstart saying things like if the TOH board didn’t act then the project would’ve remained in limbo for a very long time. To that I say if you people had done your d@mn jobs in the first place none of this would’ve happen. If Supervisor Murray had acted like a town Supervisor from this century from the beginning instead of citing some ridiculous policies and letting Party boss Joe Mondello call the shots maybe we would be somewhere. But of course she let Mondello call the shots and everyone knows Mondellos about the person who does him the most favors.
If you remember a couple months ago newsday ran a story which included the detail that Charles Wang failed to hire Joe Mondellos friend Al D’amatos brother. In my opinion if he had hired D’amatos brother then construction would’ve started on the Lighthouse a long time ago. But because Wang didn’t want to bring a known criminal into the Lighthouse group. What a terrible thing right, not to want to hire a criminal into your business. It is ridiculous in my opinion that they are essentially punishing him for not hiring D’amatos brother. I am sure that wasn’t the only reason they sat on this thing but I am sure it had something to do with it.
After keeping him in limbo for multiple years they want to now start things up so they can take the credit! These people are a joke and make me sick!! I figured a couple months ago they would probably do something like this because their attention hogs and want themselves to be praised and not Charles because their daddys Mondello and D’amato don’t like him. The fact that they won their elections by a land slide says something about this town. It says either that the people of the town aren’t educated on the issues and the way the TOH has handled them or they just don’t give a crap and were voting for the party regardless of their position on issues and the ultimate betterment of their community.
She also says that in her opinion the building of the Lighthouse would be like adding a mini-city to the area. If she felt that way why couldn’t she tell that to Wang months if not years agao and let him make the proper alterations? I will tell you why because she rec’d instructions from Mondello to sit on this and hope it goes away. But when it didn’t and it garnered as much public support as it did they realized they would have to act on it. Which led to our summer of public hearings and protests then they sat on it again which wasn’t helped by the Lighthouse not paying FP Clarke and going dark after 10/3.

Today our New York Islanders got our butt handed to us by the rival New York Rangers 5-0. Here are some of my notes:
Roloson is the only guy on the team who can say that they had a good game. Everyone else on the team had sub par games
Refs were ok
Best part of the game in my opinion was when Gillies mugged Avery
If you have anything to add post in comments
Next Game: Tomorrow @ Home VS The Flames
