If you remember years ago when one Tony Amonte was a free agent hords of Islander fans sent him emails to try and entice him to sign here. Well lets see maybe if we do it we will have a better result.
The below link will take you to the contact us page for the agency that represents Kovalchuk. Send your emails of support and passion and wait and see:

It took me about a grand total of 4 minutes to send it. More then likely it won’t do much but it can’t hurt and maybe we’ll get in the media again like we did with Amonte.

2:05 AM - I have been checking everything possible to find the littlest Kovalchuk news and so far I have come up empty. This does not mean nothing is happening, this could mean they are hiding it very well. As soon as something breaks we will cover it as quick as possible. - Rob
2:31 AM - Helene Elliott has reported a deal between Ilya Kovalchuk and the NY Islanders is in the process of being finalized.
3:32 AM - Have not heard anything being official. I sure hope so, I could use some sleep.
1:09 PM - Botta rips a Newsday columnist

Latest from Botta on PB:
“This might not seem like much, but I feel that it is. More than 14 hours after the news first broke on Twitter about the Islanders being interested in Ilya Kovalchuk, there has been a record amount of guesses advertised as breaking-news and a few lies told for the benefit of positioning.
All that said, know this about the Islanders’ interest in Kovalchuk: it is legitimate and sincere. It is also on-going. Maybe three people associated with the Islanders are in on it. You know who they are: Charles Wang, Garth Snow and possibly a capologist/numbers cruncher. By now, you should know the notion of a coaching staff and scouts sitting around the Coliseum going, “Hmm…let’s see…do we want Kovalchuk? What impact would he have on our young players? What would our top lines look like?”…let’s just say - like the drafting of Kirill Kabanov, that’s not what’s going on.
Of course, Charles Wang should be involved in this one. You’re looking at a transaction of somewhere between $50 and $120 million - all of it his money.
Bottom line, the Islanders are in this to sign Ilya Kovalchuk. More on this later. I have at least one significant tidbit of information I’d like to get confirmation on from a second source. Confident I will.”
5:42 PM - Katie Strang said not to expect anything tonight or probably tomorrow either
