Rechler sells marriot back to Wang!

According to Newsday Scott Rechler has sold the Marriot which is at the center of the Lighthouse back to Charles Wang.

To me this is a signal that Rechler is slowly but surely pulling himself away from this because he knows that it won’t get done.

So I guess the GOP is going to get what they wanted all along!!  Something at the site we don’t need to line their pockets (Casino) rather then something useful that could’ve helped the area like the Lighthouse.  What a place we live in!!!

Great Read!!! Also more on the TOH Counter!!

This is an awsome read from Nick at lettherebelighthouse.blogspot.com on the TOH gutting of the Lighthouse.

http://www.lettherebelighthouse.com/2010/07/kate-murray-slits-long-islands-throat.html

Newsday quoted many people who say that their project is no longer viable because of the reductions.  But the brilliant supervisor of the TOH continues to push the scale back saying it would preserve our suburban quality of life.

What I want to know is what suburban quality of life?  The sumps?  We have parks and a couple beaches!!  But what else??  Not much quality of life that would be “destroyed” by the Lighthouse now would it.  What a joke this town is!!!  Yet certain people in this town who don’t give a crap about the issues continue to vote these morons back into office.  People wonder why people are leaving at rapid paces, and why we may end up having a casino at the site instead of the Lighthouse.  Its because 98% of the government around here doesn’t do anything to make life better and all they do is raise taxes and collect pay checks.

TOH counter proposal!!! Also Wang & Shinnecock?

Well this morning the TOH unveiled their plan for the Lighthouse and saying its underwhelming is quite an understatement.  The size of the original Lighthouse proposal was between 10 and 13.5 million square feet and the TOH reduced proposal is 5.4 million feet.  Two million of which is reserved for parking according to Chris Botta.  Here is the press release issued by Kate herself as well as councilwomen Dorthy Goosby who is responsible for the district the Lighthouse would be in.

http://www.lettherebelighthouse.com/2010/07/kate-murrays-lighthouse-scale-down.html

Reaction to that press release deserves an entry in that of itself and I will try to get that up as soon as possible.

According to Chris Botta Wang and County Executive Ed Mangano are talking about doing a proposal with the Shinnecock nation troop in which a Mohegan Sun type Casino would be built along with a Coliseum for the islanders among other things.  Check out pointblank for more on this.

I don’t like or support the idea of putting a Casino a couple hundred feet of local Colleges.  But this is what happens when you have brainwashed people who vote for candidates based off party line and not the issues.  Hopefully we reach an amicable resolution but I am not holding my breath.

TOH’s counter proposal!!!

According to various news outlets the town of Hempstead will announced their counter proposal tomorrow morning at 11am at a press conference.  Off course they schedule it for when supporters can’t go.

According to Chris Botta the housing part which was 2,306 units apart of the original proposal will be cut to around 500.  Also the project as a whole he said will be cut by half.  Botta said that Wang and Nassau County executive Edward P. Mangano sent a joint letter to Kate Murray slamming the counter offer.  I am happy to see that Mangano for now will stick with us because he will be useful because hopefully since there members of the same party they will be able to come to some sort of an agreement.  However Botta says Kate told newsday in the newsday exclusive that the counter is non-negotiable.

Look tomorrow to Islanderspointblank.com, newsday.com, and tomorrow night look to lettherebelighthouse.blogspot.com for reaction pieces.  I will try to do something but I may not have a chance.

Lighthouse News to come within the Week??

According to Chris Botta that the TOH’s plans for a scaled back Lighthouse should come out within the next week maybe as early as Monday.  He said it is believed they cut the original proposal by more then 50%.  If so that would be like a joke offer and if I were Wang I would be insulted.

However an interesting twist that will surprise some, Botta says that County executive Ed Mangano will support Wang and his partner Scott Rechler in their attempts to develop the Nassau Coliseum with the intention of keeping the team here.

Botta said after a quite few months he expects things to heat up again and he says we appear to have Mangano in our corner.

TOH to announce Lighthouse plans within the next 2 weeks!

According to a recent article in the LI herald, the TOH say they will announce something within the next two weeks.

Hopefully its a fair proposal and not a joke to portray Wang as the bad guy and the TOH as the people who tried to save the Lighthouse but Wang was unreasonable.  If I had to guess however I would say that it will probably be a joke proposal!

What in the world is wrong with Ed Mangano??

In a recent report for hockeyindependent.com BD Gallof reported that on the same day that Shinnecock nation was federally recognized and given the freedom to actively seek a casino the county executive hired the daughter of one of the most corrupt dirt bags in this county in Alfonse D’amato.  Who mind you was reported to have strong ties in Shinnecock nation.

Now does that sound like a conflict of interest?  D’amato is a gambler, Shinnecock was given the freedom to actively seek a casino, and on the same day the daughter of said gambler is hired into one of the administrations that is trying to land a casino.

I thought you were better then that Mr. County Executive.  But I guess the apple doesn’t fall to far from the tree in this area.  One of you are corrupt morons all of you are corrupt morons.  Silly me I thought you may actually have the best interest of the region at heart, I guess I was wrong.  You would think after being involved in the Lighthouse process for as long as I have I would know better then to put any sort of faith in a politician to do something good let alone in this area.  What in the world was I thinking??  God for bid you guys do your freaking jobs and make this area better and more sustainable for the future.

I hope you and your incompetent bosses enjoy this area when the only people left living here are fifty and above.  But that is what you want right, they will do whatever you say and won’t complain and let you and your cronies get filthy rich off them.

You all make me sick!!!!!!  Once again you guys use back room politics and stuff to get what you want.  What I want to know is when will the people of this area wisen up to it and put an end to it.  Or if they know about it shame on them for not caring!

Update: Newsday & Daily News say Fanhouse report is false!!!

I don’t know what or who to believe any more!

BREAKING NEWS: Mets bring on top real estate firm to develop arena in Queens for Islanders!!

According to Chris Botta of NHL fan house and Islanderspointblank.com the Mets have bought on real estate firm Jones Lang LaSalle to develop an arena in Willets point for the Islanders.  If you aren’t familiar with the firm its the same firm that is doing the renovation of MSG.

I think its great that they are finally seriously into other options.  In my opinion they gave the corrupt local politicians long enough and there response wasn’t good so he did what any good person would do and go where they are wanted.

This is the first news on the Islanders arena situation since the newsday report last month about the Mets interest in the Islanders.  Hopefully we hear some more positive news in the coming months.

Lighthouse to be cut by 2/3?

According to Chris Bottas’ latest entry he believes when the TOH board led by Kate Murray sends their proposal to Charles Wang for a scaled back Lighthouse sometime within the next month or so it will be for about 1/3 of what he is currently looking for.  If that is the case then I would decline it if I were Wang cause in my opinion an offer that small is insulting.  If they offered around 60-70% then I think he should take it but 30% is ludicrous and if he decides to reject an offer like that I would have no problem at all!

You can check out a link to Bottas full entry in the entry below

Santino chimes in!

According to Chris Botta Councilman Anthony J Santino has written a letter to residents of his district supporting Kate Murray and the “jump starting” of the Lighthouse.  Well is there any surprise there?  Does anyone think the epidemy of kiss a$$ would actually go against the Supervisor?  For more including quotes from the letter check out a link to Bottas entry below:

Talks about Isles future and what Wang should do among other things!!!

Isles to Queens? Possible!

According to newsday the Wilpon family who owns the Mets appear to be talking to Charles Wang about possibly buying the Islanders and moving them across the street from Citifield.

http://www.newsday.com/sports/hockey/islanders/wilpon-wang-talk-about-moving-islanders-to-queens-1.1907385

While I would prefer them stay in Uniondale Queens would be my preferred destination.  Although I don’t know what the situation is like out there with getting the businesses to leave.  A newsday article quotes a business owner saying that they will fight development there because its taking away their business.

Thoughts on a possible Isles move to Queens?

Doomsday approaching?

According to Chris Botta of islanderspointblank.com our Day of Reckoning maybe fast approaching.  Apparently there have been rumors running rampant around mostly Canada for the better part of two weeks that Charles Wang no longer owns the Isles and they are controlled by the NHL.  Keep in mind nothing is confirmed or anything like that but this is a scary thought that we could be one step closer to leaving.  Botta thinks Wang is to emotionally invested in this to sell to the highest bidder who will move them to who the heck knows where.  Hopefully something will get approved soon to put our fears to rest!

Thoughts?

Old Man D’amato bashes the Lighthouse!!!!!

Well it has been speculated for a while that former Senator Alfonse D’amato was against the Lighthouse Project because his former friend Charles Wang refused to bring D’amatos brother into the Lighthouse group.  Wang refused to bring his brother in because he is an ex-con.  Well his opposition to the Lighthouse was confirmed in a piece written by the old man himself for the LI Herald.  In the piece he in lamens terms says that we should forget the Lighthouse and support the Casino.  First of all I want to criticize LI Herald editors for allowing him to write a story on this topic.  If you honestly for one second thought that this moron could write a fair and balanced story on the topic you should be fired!!!!!!  It doesn’t take a genius to see that he would use that opportunity to bash his former friend Wang and support the GOP thought up Casino idea.  You may wonder why all of a sudden this man decides after all these years to publicly talk about this.  Well I think it has to do with the fact that he has an interest in the Shinnecock group.  When I say he has an interest I mean that I was told that he has connections in the Shinnecock Nation tribe.  I wonder if the possibility of a major pay day is why he decided to poke his head out of the house he shares with his 40 something year old wife and kids.  I would say yes!!!!!!!!!

D’amato says the Casino would be good for us for all the reasons we heard why the Lighthouse would be good.  Reasons such as jobs and revenues that the County desperately needs.  What do you think will generate more revenues and create more jobs?  A 77 acre Casino project or say a scaled back 100 acre Lighthouse?  I would say the Lighthouse seeing as how with the expanded space there would be more to build and more places that need employees.  Why does he fail to mention that the Lighthouse would bring these things to?  Maybe because he doesn’t want to give his ex-friend Wangs proposal any credit.  But he did mention the Lighthouse saying that in this economy it would be impossible to get funding for such a project.  I guess he doesn’t realize that Wang isn’t limited to US investors.

He also mentions the location of the Casino in relation to the colleges.  But he doesn’t talk about a negative impact on the colleges he goes into safety and traffic.  Why doesn’t he talk about the negative impacts it would have on the college you ask?  Well maybe because it would put people on the fence against it and cost him his big pay day.  God for-bid the 72 year old ex-senator stays the heck out of politics and worries about his family and lives like a retiree for a change and not the corrupt bas**** hes been for decades.

In my opinion D’amato needs to grow up and get over himself and make sure the Lighthouse gets done in some aspect.  You may say its not his say its the TOH, well he has more power then the TOH.  Scary right!!!!!!!!!
